The ordinary plastic bag. A ubiquitous part of everyday life. An icon of convenience. An environmental scourge. Did you know that between 500 billion and 1 trillion plastic bags are used worldwide each year but only 1% is recycled? The rest end up in our oceans and landfills where they take hundreds of years to decompose. It doesn’t have to end this way.
Join MYX: Multicultural Youth eXchange and Minima as we explore the intersection of design and environmental responsibility by weaving plastic bags into original works of art. Featuring local weaver, Janell Wysock.
